Meadowood Baptist Church has many ways in which members can participate. We encourage you to pray for these different ministries and become a part of sharing the love, life, and word of our Lord Jesus Christ by volunteering.

GENERAL:  
ADVERTISING Spreading the word about Meadowood's activities is always appreciated. Members can contact the church office to see if there are event fliers and posters available to post in our community. If you know of nearby community bulletin boards, or you have good relations with establishments and business owners near you, please help Meadowood advertise its events.
BEREAVEMENT The Bereavement Committee prepares funeral meals. Volunteers can (1) provide a telephone number where they can be reached to offer assistance with providing a dessert or side dish, or (2) help with funeral meal preparation. GREETERS Meadowood is always in need of friendly faces to greet our visitors and take the time to help them get settled in to our classes and activities. Please contact the church office at (405) 737-7684 if you are interested, or click here to send an email.
FOOD SERVICES "Family Meal" time is Wednesdays during the school year from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to help prepare food, set up, clean up, etc. Meadowood also holds other events where food service volunteers are needed. Contact Jan Shaffer if interested.
LIBRARY Volunteers assist our church members in finding fun, educational, and empowering books, videos, and DVD sets. Contact the church office for library hours and details.
PRAYER MINISTRY Volunteers pray for specific needs listed in a prayer book in the Prayer Room. Contact Patsy Cellier for more information and times that are open in the Prayer Room schedule.
PRAYER WALK The prayer walk begins before the 9:15 a.m. Bible Study. Members gather to pray over our departments and Sunday activities.
REPAIR NETWORK Sooner or later everyone needs a "fix-it" person, from an elderly shut-in to a family needing to save money. Simple repairs on cars, appliances, mowers, and homes can be costly if given to a commercial source. Volunteers here can share their time and know-how to provide our church members who are in need with at-cost repairs and money saving options.
SHUTTLE DRIVERS Due to limited parking, licensed shuttle bus drivers are needed to bring members to and from off-site church parking on Sunday mornings and during special events. Contact the church office.
TRANSPORTATION We have members who are too old to drive and families that don't have reliable transportation to church. Volunteers willing to help pick up and drop off are appreciated.

ADULT DEPARTMENT:  
BIBLE STUDY LEADERS Sunday mornings from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
FOCUS GROUP LEADERS Sunday evenings from 5:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. during the school year. Fall sessions run from September to November, about 10 sessions. Spring sessions run from Janaury to March, about 10 sessions. Volunteers guide group discussions on topics arranged by the Adult Education Minister. YOUTH DEPARTMENT:

THE ROCK HOUSE A ministry for youth grades 6-12. The Rock House is our youth facility located just west of Meadowood on E. Reno. Leaders and helpers are needed for Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities. Contact Kent for more information where help is needed.

CHILDRENS DEPARTMENT:  
AWANA Wednesdays from 6:00-7:40 p.m. during the school year. Students in grades first through fifth participate in four, 20 minute rotations for Bible Study, bible skills, music, and recreation. HANDS ON BIBLE Sunday evenings from 5:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. during the school year while adults are in FOCUS classes. Group discussion leaders and "crowd control" volunteers are needed.
KIDS NIGHT OUT Fridays, once a month, during the school year. Typically from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Sponsors and volunteers are needed for "crowd control."
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL A ministry for children ages four through fifth grade. Each year during the summer, loving and caring volunteers are always needed for five days of fun and sharing God's Word in Vacation Bible School. Meadowood holds VBS in the evening, giving those who work an opportunity to participate. Please contact the church office for more information.

EXTENDED SESSION A ministry for parents of infants through 3 years. When the 10:30 a.m. worship service begins on Sunday, volunteers are needed for childcare in the Preschool Department. Volunteers are placed on a rotation list. The more volunteers that are available, the more everyone can participate in worship services. MOTHER'S DAY OUT A Meadowood sponsored program for parents with infants through preschool. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daycare is offered to allow parents a chance to get "caught up." All employed workers must have a background check. MUSIC DEPARTMENT:  
ADULT CHOIR The "Exaltation Singers," college age and up, rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:50 p.m. Anyone can join. Simply come to rehearsals. Contact our Music Minister, Tom Poe, for more information or click here to send him an email.

HANDBELL CHOIR An auditioned group. "Exaltation Ringers" is a hand bell choir that plays on special occaisons throughout the year. It is for college age and up. ORCHESTRA An auditioned group. Those who can read music and play an instrument, high school age and up, contact Tom Poe through the church office for more information.
YOUTH CHOIR Any student grades 6-12 may join. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons during the school year from 5:00-5:45 p.m.

OTHER MINISTRIES:  
J.O.Y. GROUP A ministry for senior adults. "Just Older Youth" meets on the third Thursday of every month. Meetings include a potluck dinner, a guest speaker or special entertainment, fellowship, and efforts to provide items for Master's Market. MASTER'S MARKET:  
CARS FOR WORK A Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Program. Old but working cars are donated and given to individuals in need of transportation to and from work. Car donors receive a tax letter from Meadowood Baptist Church. Volunteers adept in engine repair are needed to prepare cars for their next owner. CRAZY QUILTS A Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Program. The "Crazy Quilts" ladies make quilts for families in need. The quilts are made from donated fabric by volunteers who sew the pieces at home and then meet once a month to "tack" the quilts together. Crazy Quilts meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Master's Market. Contact Meadowood at (405) 737-7684 or send an email to Master's Market.
HEALING HEARTS CLINIC A Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Program. Meadowood cooperates with five other churches in the Midwest City / Choctaw area to provide free medical care and drugs to patients who cannot afford insurance or the cost of going to see a doctor.
THE MARKET Master's Market is a Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Program. This is a food and clothing pantry that provides assistance to those in need. Counselors interview client and determine their needs. The gospel of the Lord Jesus is shared. There many ways to volunteer at Master's Market: Stock shelves, wash eggs, clean and sort clothing, prepare food donations for distribution, prepare household cleaners and detergent for distribution, separate and wash meat before freezing or distribution, to name a few. THE TOY STORE A Mission Mid-Del, Inc. Program. "The Toy Store" provides families in need Christmas gifts for the holidays. It is an ongoing project throughout the year. Donated toys are collected, cleaned and repaired if necessary. In November the toy drive begins. In December "The Toy Store" opens.

MISSIONS:  
CARDS FOR SOLDIERS Meets the first Monday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (come and go) during the school year in room 407, Adult Wing. New and used birthday and holiday cards are used to create cards that contain encouraging messages for our troops here and abroad. Donors can bring new and used cards to a drop box in the church hallway.
ESL "English as a Second Language," or "ESL," meets on Tuesdays during the school year from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Contact Lois Minton through the church office for more information on how to become a volunteer.
GARAGE SALES "Garage Sales for Missions" sponsored by Meadowood members. Items for the garage sale are priced by the donors. The donated items are then sold and proceeds benefit missions work around the world. Donated items are needed. Volunteer workers are needed. OCC Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a "Samaritan's Purse" program that provides needy children around the world with Christmas gifts, personal (toiletry) items, and school supplies. Efforts by Meadowood are usually coordinated through the Sunday morning Bible study classes.
WHIZ KIDS Mission Mid-Del, Inc. and Meadowood have partnered with Crutcho Elementary School to provide tutoring after school. Sessions are held at Meadowood from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays during the school year.
